BEACHES AND DESTINATION MACEIO
Wonderful beaches in Maceio, resort to open sky.
City of rivers, lagoons and beaches, Maceio is a breathtaking meeting of natural beauty. Faced with so much grace, the Indians delighted, dubbed the place “Maçayó” or “Maçai-o-k” meaning "that covers the swamp." Thus arose "Maceio". Historian said that the city had its origin in an old sugar mill in the eighteenth century. Others say that, being beach, its origin is connected to a small village. Whatever the origin, by sea or sugar, Maceio is a place blessed by nature.



Raft the wind - To start enjoying the charms of the beaches of Maceio, good walk through flanges Pajuçara, Ponta Verde, Jatiuca and Cruz Das Almas is the ideal scenario. Pilgrimage watching the blue sea, the rafts and the coconut trees is a tradition of Alagoas, an invitation with pleasure. Take the opportunity to take water-coconut, soursop ice cream taste, mangaba or caja, and also delighted with the tapioca cheese curd.
There are other beaches in Maceio chimes as Guaxuma Heron and Pie. The latter is more attuned to the beach, artists and intellectuals who seek to look more distant from the city. Traveling also towards the north coast, arouses the attention of tourists to the Mermaid statue, which stands for 41 years on the rock formations that limit the natural pool that is the delight of kids for many generations. As for the beaches and Pratagy Ipioca have strong characteristics of fishing villages. Ipioca, at low tide, it offers, however, the most attractive one: its natural pools, which can be reached on a raft trip.
